Vincent (Vince) Quy Tran

Profile

Hi,

1 // I am a scientist that works at the intersection of AI and experimental biology to engineer better biologics for research and human therapeutics. I am especially interested in the development of machine learning methods for accelerated protein engineering. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Arc Institute, working with Dr. Patrick D. Hsu.

2 // Previously, I was an undergraduate at UCLA, where I studied HIV drug resistance mechanisms and received my B.Sc. in Biochemistry. I received my PhD in Chemistry from UCB, working in the Hsu Lab. During my PhD, I investigated methods to engineer genome/transcriptome-editing proteins including CRISPR-Cas systems and large serine recombinases.

3 // Apart from my work in biology, you may find me fixing my serve at the tennis court, replaying songs by Porter Robinson, or holding a ZV-E1 and filming random vlogs.
